INSERVICE TRAINING OF TRAINERS, TEACHERS AND INSTRUCTORS
IN TEACHING LITERACY AND NUMERACY SKILLS
Our inservice training programmes for trainers
and primary school teachers and instructors, have concentrated
on improving the capacity of teachers and instructors to teach
basic literacy and numeracy skills effectively. Given the greater
flexibility of supplementary educational programmes, the inservice
training of their instructors has included other inputs like
environmental and values education, and creative activities.
Our training programmes incorporate :
Content
knowledge and effective activity-based pedagogy.
Making and
using simple, low cost teaching-learning materials.
Evaluation
of pupil achievement.
Discussion on gender sensitivity, teacher
attitudes and motivation.
We offer no fixed inservice training
course as the content and duration of our training depends
on the needs of teachers, and government agencies and NGOs
requesting CLR inputs. Our training is conducted in Marathi
and Hindi.
