ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

The CLR guides teachers in the preparation of their own low cost teaching-learning materials, as part of its inservice training programmes.

We also develop and publish a variety of supplementary teaching-learning materials based on the needs expressed by elementary schools and alternative educational programmes. Prototypes are tried out in classrooms and the feedback from this process is incorporated into the final design of our published materials.

We have developed supplementary materials in the following areas :

  • Readiness for learning
  • First language
  • English as a second language
  • Primary Mathematics
  • Values Education

CLR teaching-learning materials are designed for use in regular classrooms as well as by individual children at home. They are particularly appropriate for small multigrade classrooms. Many teachers and parents are also using them with slow learners, and children who need step-by-step remedial help.

CLR materials are available in English, Hindi and Marathi. All our materials are low cost and promote active learning.
